Abstract

In this paper, the effect of weak lensing magnification on galaxy number counts is studied bycross-correlating the positions of two galaxy samples, separated by redshift, using the DarkEnergy Survey Science Verification data set. This analysis is carried out for galaxies that areselected only by its photometric redshift. An extensive analysis of the systematic effects, usingnew methods based on simulations is performed, including a Monte Carlo sampling of theselection function of the survey.
