Wave kinetic instabilities in nonlinear, statistical optics

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate wave-kinetic instabilities in the nonlinear coupling of two partially-coherent beams. We report pure momentum-space energy transfer, without intensity modulations, below the (joint) MI threshold and full {x,k} phase space dynamics above it.
