Abstract

This chapter offers an evolutionary perspective on the transition on VLSI concurrent array processors, from transversal filtering to systolic and wave-front array processing. The paper stresses a holistic VLSI system design methodology that closely coordinates language design, architecture structure, and their practical applications.
