Abstract
Low-energy atomic tunneling has been observed by acoustic methods in the superconductor YBa2Cu3O7 at very low temperature. An estimate of the tunneling-system density of states yields a magnitude sufficient to account for the linear term observed in recent heat-capacity measurements.
