Abstract

The transverse spin relaxation of hyperpolarized liquid Xe in a spherical shell was studied. The instability of transverse magnetization due to dipolar fields was found to be supressed by imperfections in the π pulses of the spin-echo sequences. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques were used for the observations and a perturbative model was developed.
