Abstract
Transport simulations of ohmic gas- and pellet-fueled experiments have been carried out to test a microinstability-based, profile-consistent model of anomalous energy transport in tokamaks that was calibrated on Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor (TFTR) data. Except for the predicted shape of the electron temperature profile in the ASDEX gas-fueled phase, results from simulations of experiments on the TFTR, ASDEX, and Alcator-C tokamaks were found consistent with the observed energy confinement and temperature measurements.
