Abstract
India is home to a third of the world's unimmunized children. Innovations in vaccine delivery, extension of coverage, and the introduction of new antigens during the past 3 years have significantly strengthened the Universal Immunization Programme. Here we review these changes in the context of India's efforts to build a modern vaccine delivery system to serve its 27 million newborns each year.
