Abstract

The paper describes numerical solutions of the flight characteristics of square flat plates in strong winds, following initiation of flight, and makes comparisons with experimental data from wind-tunnel experiments. Good to excellent agreement was found. Calculations were also made for the trajectory of a concrete roof tile in a gust wind speed representative of that in a hurricane.
