Abstract

Hydrodynamic evolution of plasma kernel for axisymmetric plasma is contrasted here against the case with plasma kernel developed due to non-coaxial offset between the first and second pulse during energy deposition within the setup framework of dual-pulse. Previously developed two-dimensional plasma model is extended to three dimensions to approximate the three-dimensional plasma kernel. The results showed that inclusion of elongation in the cross-sectional plane of the laser introduces strong vorticity in the corresponding plane which was non-existent in the axisymmetric plasma kernel. The vorticity on the cross-sectional plane influenced the energy deposition kernel at later times strongly. Observed differences and relevant conclusions from the results are briefly summarized at the end.
