Thermodynamic implications of confinement for a waterlike fluid

Abstract

A waterlike fluid film confined between hydrophobic plane surfaces is investigated. A method is introduced to study the films thermodynamic and phase behavior. The theory for uniform associating fluids is generalized to describe the hydrogen-bonding interactions in the fluid film.
