Abstract

The essential histone chaperone FACT controls chromatin integrity in cooperation with H2B ubiquitination. Murawska et al. reveal how H2Bub regulates FACT activity within gene bodies and identify a novel role for the FACT complex at highly compacted chromosomal regions.
