Abstract
The behavior of a terahertz (THz) quantum cascade laser (QCL) in a magnetic field was investigated. Reactive ion etching was used to process the laser devices into ridges through the active zone down to the bottom contact layer. The measurements were performed with the device mounted in a cryostat equipped with two superconducting magnets. A reduction of the threshold current density was observed with increasing applied fields.
