Temperature Measurements in Hypersonic Flows using optimized ro-vibrational hybrid ps/fs CARS

Abstract

In this abstract we present parametric studies on measurements of vibrational temperatures using Hybrid Femtosecond/Picosecond CARS. Simulations demonstrated the effects of modifying probe delay relative to the Pump and Stokes beams. Experimental data was measured in ambient conditions, a high temperature furnace, and a flame for various probe delays to confirm these results. Modifying probe delay is proposed as a method of optimizing CARS signal in hypersonic testing facilities.
