Abstract
Using powder x-ray diffraction, we have measured the temperature dependence of the lattice parameters of the 30-K superconductor, Ba0.6K0.4BiO3, in the range 14-300 K. We find that within the resolution of our measurement, Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 remains cubic over the entire range of temperature with no peak splitting or additional peaks observed. This means that the compound maintains an undistorted, three-dimensional Bi-O array at the superconducting transition temperature.
