Surviving the transition to total quality, the history of TQM at international rectifier

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

According to recent studies, between two-thirds and four-fifths of the companies attempting to implement total quality concepts report no meaningful improvements in performance. This article describes the evolution of the total quality transformation as it is taking place at International Rectifier Corporation, an international manufacturer of power semiconductors. Two potentially deadly obstacles to continuous improvement are presented, as well as methods of mitigation.
