Abstract
We review recent results of microwave spectroscopy on two-dimensional systems of holes in high-quality GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs heterostructures. The high magnetic field (B) insulating phase of these systems exhibits a striking microwave resonance, that is interpreted as a pinning mode of a Wigner crystal. The dependences of this resonance on B, temperature, carrier density, and dc in-plane electric field are summarized.
