Strong enhancement of upconversion luminescence by 3-dimensional plasmonic nano-cavities

Abstract

We report a 310-fold upconversion luminescence enhancement, and 8-fold decay rate enhancement of NaYF4:Yb3+/Er3+ codoped nanocrystals using a 3D plasmonic nanoantenna array. The enhancement is two orders of magnitude larger than previously reported results.[1].
