Abstract

A recent study links the double-stranded RNA-binding protein Stauten (Stau) 1 and the nonsense-mediated decay factor Upf1 in a novel mRNA decay pathway. Stafen now dons two hats to participate in two different pathways-one that directs mRNA localization and one that directs mRNA decay.
