Abstract
The stability of dissipative trapped-particle modes in the presence of a self-consistent lower-hybrid pump is analysed theoretically. The pump can either be a single coherent wave or a spectrum of turbulent waves. Corresponding dispersion relations modified by the pump are derived and conditions for excitation and suppression of the modes are also discussed.
