N2 - Results of a comparative study of performance of three high-resolution schemes suggested in the literature for solving the convective transport equation are presented. Using an in-house finite-volume unstructured-grid code, extended computations were performed with the HRIC, CICSAM and M-CICSAM schemes for various two-dimensional test problems of species convection in a prescribed velocity field. Effects of the time discretization method, time step and computational grid on conservation of a species spot shape were analyzed. For all the test cases considered, M-CICSAM technique demonstrated its superiority over the other schemes examined.
