Abstract

Lieb and Liniger's soluble model of the 1-D Bose gas is put on a lattice, becoming a "boson-Hubbard model". It remains soluble by the Bethe ansatz. When the coupling exceeds a critical value ( U 2πT)> 2√3 π, a gap is present when the density n bosons per site is 1.
