Abstract

Social cognitive development (SCD) is a field of psychology that is concerned with the origins and development of representations and processes involved in social thought and interactions. Topics of study in social cognitive development are diverse and include theory of mind, social preferences and attitudes, relationships, aggression, morality, and prosocial behavior.
