Abstract
The autoresonance for drives at twice the fundamental frequency, second harmonic autoresonance, was examined. Second harmonic autoresonance (2HAR) was studied in the context of the l = 1 diocotron equation. The results can be generalized to any Duffing-like driven nonlinear oscillator in which the coupling between the drive and the oscillator depends on the oscillator amplitude.
