Abstract
The scaling of the reconnection electric field was determined in a collisionless plasma for a model of forced reconnection. An analytical expression for the length of the reconnection layer was obtained and its dependencies on local plasma and global parameters were identified. A nonlinear Hall magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) simulation was used to test analytical scaling relations.
