Abstract

We present a new perspective on the impact of diffuse scattering from rough surfaces on the resilience of wireless links against nodal mobility. We provide a theoretical model and conduct over-the-air experiments using common indoor and outdoor surfaces. Our results show that non-line-of-sight links off of rough surfaces are more resilient against mobility, albeit at the cost of a lower peak signal-to-noise ratio.
