Abstract

The equilibrium and the stability of a slowly diffusing rotating plasma with particle sources was investigated. Particle sources were found to be necessary for a steady state of centrifugally confined plasmas. It was also observed that the density profile of the steady state depends on the placement of particle sources. The simulation results show velocity shear stabilization of intercharges.
