Abstract
Particulate processes have been the Cinderella of chemical process industry (CPI), that is - they do the dirty work but get little recognition. The impact of particle technology is evident in chemical, petrochemical, polymer, biochemical, agricultural chemicals, paints/pigments, energy & power, paper & pulp and pharmaceuticals, to name a few. While recent advances in particle technology, especially in the field of nanoparticles and computational methods, have created new opportunities, there still exists a fertile ground for improvements and innovation in the traditional domains. In this paper, we are focusing on the American continent which includes United States, Canada, Central and South America. The information presented here merely highlights the research areas pursued by various research groups over the past decade.
