Abstract

We present a novel technique to measure the real-time differential optical phase spectrum from spectral interference pattern. Good measurement results are obtained on both linear and nonlinear cases through experiment and analytical simulation. From these measured results we can obtain accurate all order PMD information for the optical signal and correspondingly compensate the impairment in optical transmission links and WDM networks.
