We have studied resistance fluctuations as a function of magnetic field (B) and backgate bias (VG) at v = 1 3, 1, and 2 in a hi quality two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG). We find that, within an experimental uncertainty of ∼ 25%, the relation among the fluctuation periods ΔB, at fixed n, is ΔB(v = 1 3) = 3ΔB(v = 1) = 3ΔB(v = 2), but at fixed B, the r ΔVG is ΔVG(v = 1 3) = ΔVG(v = 1) = ( 1 2)ΔVG(v = 2). These results provide experimen excitations from the 1 3 FQH liquid is e* = e 3 and that the flux quantum relevant to quantization of the semiclassical o Θ* = 3h e.
