The interplay between impurity and collective spin excitations in the YBa2Cu3O7 system was explored by inelastic neutron scattering (INS). It was found that the spin excitation spectra of the system are dominated by a magnetic resonance peak below Tc, however, the impurity affected the spin correlations in very different ways.
