Quantum-Classical Reentrant Relaxation Crossover in Dy2Ti 2O7 Spin Ice

The spin relaxation in the spin ice compound Dy2Ti 2O7 was studied. The measurements of the ac magnetic susceptibility were used for the purpose. Results showed that even such large spin systems, where the spins were typically treated classically, must be considered with the effects of quantum dynamics.
