Abstract

The pressure dependence of Tc has been studied for new quaternary superconductors LuNi2B2C, YNi2B2C and YPd5B3C0.3. Despite that LiNi2B2C with smaller lanthanide radius has higher Tc than YPd5B3C0.3, application of pressure is found to suppress Tc. The suppression of Tc is suggested to be imtimately connected with the contraction along c-axis. The dTc/dP-Tc plot suggests that these new superconductors are rather conventional.
