Abstract
Electron-spin resonance (ESR) measurements for the quasi-two-dimensional honeycomb antiferromagnet BaNi2V2O8 were reported. BaNi2V2O8 crystallizes with a rhombohedral unit cell, which contains magnetic layers of edge-sharing NiO 6 octahedra arranged on a honeycomb lattice. It was suggested that BaNi2V2O8 was a weakly anisotropic 2D Heisenberg antiferromagnet.
