Abstract

A subject of this work is the dynamics of long filamentary pulse discharge generated along the contact zone of two co-flown gases. Two main ideas are discussed: the mechanism of lateral jets generation after the discharge run and the mechanism of the discharge localization in a mixing layer of two gases. The effects found are supposed to be used for high-speed combustion enhancement owing to nonequilibrium excitation of air/fuel composition and mixing acceleration of nonpremixed multicomponent flow.
