Abstract

The phenomenological renormalization approach of Nightingale was carried out for 2-dim spin glasses. We examine models with Gaussian, exp (-J2/2), and exponential, exp (-|J|), distributions for nearest neigbor Ising spins. The correlation length exponent is estimated to be v = 4.2±0.5 in contrast to the scaling laws of the "freezing theory" which require v = 2.
