Abstract
Phase separation in the ground state of Falicov-Kimball (FK) model due to quantum mechanical correlations was discussed. It was found that in the ground state the itinerant electrons were spatially separated from the classical particles. The ground state energy level was roughly proportional to the boundary between occupied and empty sites.
