Abstract

We extend the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm to phase retrieval in a nonlinear optical system. Using a tunable photorefractive crystal, we experimentally demonstrate the technique by reconstructing an input phase distribution from two output intensity measurements taken at different values of the nonlinearity.
