Abstract
The phase-to-intensity (PTI) noise spectrum for amplitude modulated wideband filter rectifier narrowband filter (AM-WIRMA) coherent links was modeled. Results indicate that the phase noise critically limits the signal to noise ratio (SNR). For high power, high SNR systems such as antenna remoting and AM-cable television system, this limit dominates for laser linewidths greater than a few MHz.
