N2 - Flows driven by a transverse travelling wave, propagating along a boundary of a closed rectangular container are examined, motivated by mixing with applications in MEMS. The steady, time-independent flow is computed analytically in the asymptotic limit of high frequencies and the boundary-layer structure is described. The results could be useful for modeling devices where streaming fluid motion needs to be produced without any internal moving Parts.
