Abstract

The current-voltage characteristics of model organic devices in ultra-high-vacuum were discussed. It was found that the hole injection characteristics from Au electrodes for devices made from α-NPD were independent of depositional sequence and substrate used. The strong dependence of morphology and preferred molecular orientation on the substrate for the crystalline material was also elaborated.
