Abstract

A novel all-optically tuned resonant grating filter with a bacteriorhodopsin overlayer is demonstrated. The resonance of this simple and compact device can be shifted continuously by a pump beam with only very moderate power. It can be used in applications such as all-optical switching and modulation.
