Abstract
We observe one-dimensional confinement in the optical emission and inelastic light scattering spectra of laterally patterned modulation doped heterostructures. From inelastic light scattering spectra we determine the one-dimensional subband spacing. From the photoluminescence spectra we determine the electron Fermi energy and obtain the one-dimensional electron density.
