Optical self-routing in a self-clocked photonic switch using pulse-interval encoding

Abstract

Self-routing of 100 Mbit/s data through a photonic switch is demonstrated. Individual bits are sub-encoded with a destination address using a pulse-interval technique at 12.5 GBaud. Self-clocked optical processing is used at the switch to read addresses.
