Abstract
Based on a feed-forward fibre-optic delay line structure, a 16 bit optical compression technique is demonstrated for ultra-fast packet-switched optical networks. An incoming bit rate of 100Mbit/s is converted to an outgoing bit rate of 100Gbit/s with 10.0 ± 0.9ps bit spacing.
