Abstract

The operation of the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) Thomson scattering system is discussed. The system provides routinely valuable electron temperature, density, pressure profiles and line-integrated density. The laser implementation and the installed collection optics are described. The examples of raw and analyzed data with some comments about the calibration are presented.
