N2 - The K-χ theorem, which states the proportionality between the linear polarizability of a plasma particle in a rapidly oscillating wave field and the adiabatic ponderomotive potential seen by this particle due to the wave, is generalized to arbitrary Hamiltonian dipole interactions.
