Nonlinear wave scattering by small barrier potentials

Abstract

We consider the nonlinear scattering of a plane wave by a small barrier potential (cylindrical anti-waveguide). We experimentally demonstrate that self-defocusing nonlinearity can greatly enhance transmission, suppress scatter, and generate phase singularities.
