Nonlinear photonic quasicrystals: Observation of tunneling-transport, soliton formation, and defect dynamics

Abstract

We present the first observation of defect dynamics in 2D nonlinearly interacting photonic quasicrystals. In addition, we present experiments showing linear "discrete" diffraction from various lattice sites and lattice solitons in photonic quasicrystals.
