In conclusion, we present femtosecond TALIF measurements of the neutral density the quasi-CW mode and pulsed mode in an RF heated magnetic linear plasma device. Using a 1kHz fs laser system we demonstrate densities as low as 1011 cm-3 and measure their dynamics with 15 microseconds temporal resolution. These measurements of the atomic hydrogen densities help to better understand the relative importance of ionization, recombination and recycling processes, hence transport in the plasma device. This research used resources of the Princeton Collaborative Low Temperature Plasma Research Facility (PCRF), which is a collaborative research facility supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Fusion Energy Sciences.
