Abstract

A series of carbene-chromium complexes bearing a phenyl substituent and an alkoxy-alkyne substituent have been prepared by acetoxy replacement. Intramolecular cycloaddition with carbon monoxide insertion occurs to provide naphthohydroquinones in good yield.
